『ルー=ガルー』とは?アニメ情報誌「アニメージュ」に連載された読者投稿による実験的なインタラクティブ小説で当時の読者参加者に絶大な支持を受けるカルト的な作品である。原作者の京極夏彦氏本人の作品でも特殊な位置づけになるが、京極作品における独特のテイストとキャラクターの既視観はファンならお分かりの通り。14歳の主人公、近未来のネット管理社会を背景としたサスペンスは読むものに殺人という禁忌の意味を再考させるものである。感覚の鋭い若い世代に強烈にアピールした、今回のコミカライズへとつながった。
