Hanabatake Yoshiko is an incredibly stupid girl who gets zeros in all five subjects in academic tests. When her childhood friend Akutsu Akira, also known as “Akkun,” lectures her, she can only give irrelevant responses, which often results in Akkun scolding her and making fun of her. Her unfortunate days are filled with trouble, involving classmates Sumino Sayaka, Kurosaki Ryuichi, a delinquent who calls himself Yoshiko’s younger brother, Yoshiko’s mother Yoshie, Akkun’s sister Ruri, the discipline committee chairman who has a crush on Akkun, a trio of gyaru girls who dislike Akkun, and Oshieda Atsuko, Yoshiko’s homeroom teacher who has a crush on Yoshiko dressed as a boy.
